Unveiled in September 2019, a few months after the F8 Tributo at the Geneva Motor Show, the F8 Spider succeeds the 488 Spider, retaining the twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 boosted to 720bhp at 8,000rpm and 770Nm — mechanicals derived from the 488 Pista, crowned 'International Engine of the Year' four consecutive years from 2016 to 2019. Its very name is a tribute: F8 for eight cylinders, Tributo in homage to the most decorated engine in the marque's history. The retractable hard top folds away in fourteen seconds, at speeds of up to 45km/h, without compromising cabin space.

Production concluded in 2023: the F8 closes the chapter on Ferrari's mid-engined V8 berlinettas, a lineage opened in 1975 with the 308 GTB — its successor, the 296, moves to a plug-in hybrid V6. A 2023 Spider example therefore belongs to the very final year of this line. This particular car shows 8,168km, retains its full 720bhp output, and boasts the cabriolet configuration that lets the V8 sing beneath open skies.
