Launched in 2009, the Panamera was Porsche's first saloon: four genuine seats and a boot, with the poise of a true sports car. The GTS version arrived in 2011 as the purists' choice — sharper than an S, more attainable than a Turbo. Our car is a phase 2 (2013 facelift), the final evolution of this first-generation 970, fitted with the GTS Pack and carbon-trimmed interior.

Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 producing 440bhp — with no turbo, power builds progressively with the revs and the soundtrack is wonderfully authentic. It is the last naturally aspirated V8 in Panamera history: the following generation went fully turbocharged. PDK dual-clutch gearbox, four-wheel drive, lowered chassis. A muscular GT character, usable every day, and already sought after by collectors.
