Born in the wake of the 2016 911 R, the GT3 Touring is the GT3 for purists: the fixed rear wing gives way to the classic retractable spoiler, the cabin trim gains in sobriety, and the six-speed manual gearbox — the very one from the 911 R — is fitted as standard. Mechanically identical to the GT3: a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six producing 500bhp at 9,000rpm, derived from competition. The wolf in understated clothing.

Where the 911 R was limited to 991 examples and speculated upon relentlessly, the Touring offered the same recipe at no extra cost — and the market has since taken note: the manual 991.2 in Touring configuration has established itself as one of the most sought-after modern 911s in collector circles.
