The 356 C, produced from 1963 to 1965, represents the culmination of the first Porsche: disc brakes on all four wheels finally adopted, a refined suspension and the 1600 C engine delivering around 75bhp, the most accomplished of the marque's touring flat-fours. Our 1964 cabriolet, of American origin, belongs to this ultimate generation — the most usable — which closes the chapter opened at Gmünd in 1948, just before the arrival of the 911.

Within the collector world, the 356 C cabriolet occupies a place apart: significantly rarer than the coupé, it adds the pleasure of open-top motoring to the purity of the line. The Porsche certificate confirming matching numbers — original engine and chassis — separates true collector cars from mere drivers and directly underpins value.
